Hand off research briefs and weekly reports, then check the result before it leaves your hands.
Cowork is Claude's agent for knowledge work: you describe a finished deliverable, it works through the steps across your files and connected tools, and it hands back a document, sheet or deck for you to check. This course is about doing that well and safely. It starts with what to hand off and what to keep: the five-question hand-off test, and the judgment calls, irreversible actions and private material that stay with you. You then run a first task end to end: a dedicated folder, a brief with a checkable finish, steering when the task drifts, and a two-pass review. Next come connectors, skills, plugins, Projects and scheduled tasks. It ends on safety: approval modes, prompt injection, sensitive data, and a verification pass before anything is sent. Cowork needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise); the course shows how to rehearse the same brief-and-review skills in an ordinary chat on the Free plan first. No programming knowledge is assumed.
Section 1
Tell a question from a deliverable, run a task past the hand-off test, keep the judgment and the irreversible parts for yourself, and spend a paid plan's limits on purpose.
Section 2
Run one real task end to end: give it a single folder, write a brief with a checkable finish, steer it when it drifts, and review the result like an editor.
