Frequently asked questions
The practical details behind courses, billing, trials, and AI usage.
Why learn to code when AI can write it?
AI can generate a first draft. You still need to define what it should do, test the result, and investigate mistakes. Koda lets you practice predicting outputs, finding bugs, and building projects, so you can make informed decisions about the code you use.
What does Basic include?
Basic includes the Full-Stack Web Developer path and the Python & Data Developer path, including the courses and every lesson assigned to those two paths. Guided projects require Pro. Basic also includes 200 AI Points renewed each month.
What changes with Pro?
Pro opens 27 courses, four learning paths, 64 guided projects, and the complete progress toolkit. AI Tools Mastery and issuing a new path certificate require Ultra. Pro includes 1,000 AI Points renewed each month.
What changes with Ultra?
Ultra includes the complete Pro learning experience, unlocks the AI Tools Mastery path with its six courses and 12 guided projects, adds verified path certificates, and raises the monthly allowance to 2,500 AI Points. Ultra is $20 monthly or $180 annually; Pro is $9 monthly or $81 annually.
How does the annual discount work?
Every annual price equals nine monthly payments: Basic is $45 instead of $60, Pro is $81 instead of $108, and Ultra is $180 instead of $240. That three-month saving applies at signup and every annual renewal, unless pricing changes with advance notice.
Is there a trial?
Yes. Every tier and billing cadence opens with a 7-day trial for an eligible first-time member. Your checkout shows eligibility, the trial end date, and the amount and date of the first charge. Cancel before the displayed deadline to avoid renewal.
What are AI Points?
AI Points are Koda’s usage units for AI-powered requests. They are not cash, do not roll over, and reset each calendar month. 1 AI Point ≈ one AI answer with the standard model; advanced models may use more.
Can I see locked courses before upgrading?
Yes. Koda keeps the complete course and project catalog visible. A locked item names the membership needed and sends you to the upgrade screen instead of hiding the learning opportunity.
How are path pace estimates calculated?
The current pace model is pace-v1-2026-08-05. Until a path reaches 50 privacy-safe completed-path samples, Koda labels its range as an estimate. After that threshold, the published model uses median and 75th-percentile active completion time, including required projects and review sessions, while excluding staff, test, synthetic, abandoned, and inactivity-capped sessions. Koda never collects lesson text or learner source code for this calculation.
Who are the automated pacers in my league?
Pacers are automated practice partners with preset XP progress, not real learners. They count in the standings and promotion cutoffs but cannot earn rewards.
How do upgrades and cancellations work?
Web subscriptions are purchased and managed securely through Polar. Mobile subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple or Google Play. Access changes only after the relevant provider confirms the change to Koda.
Do I need coding experience?
No. Both included Basic paths begin with foundations. Experienced learners can use Pro or Ultra to reach the advanced database and AI engineering courses immediately.
Can I get a refund?
Web memberships bought through Polar are refunded in full if you email support@dekoda.site within 14 days of a first purchase. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by Apple and Google under their own policies; Koda cannot reverse a store charge but will help you file the request. The full policy is in the Refunds section of the terms.
Something is broken or my membership didn’t activate. Who do I contact?
Go to the support page at dekoda.site/support. It has the cancel, restore, refund, password, and account-deletion steps for each platform, plus a message form and the support@dekoda.site address.
